I talk to moms every day who feel lost and confused and undervalued.
Moms who make sure the kids are dressed in clean, cute clothes every day, while waking around ourselves in grungy workout pants and old t-shirts because it feels like no one is looking at us anyhow.
Moms who have completely forgotten how to dress and what their style even used to be because it’s been so long since we’ve asked ourselves what we actually wanted.
Moms who simply don’t feel like we have the time to invest in ourselves because we’ve given everything we have to our families.
“From the start, Carli has been approachable, relatable and impactful with the way she communicates. She helped me get over the false beliefs I held about the size of my body and learn how to embrace what I have by dressing it in the sizes it requires, emotions aside. She’s full of great ideas and relays them in a fun and attractive way. She’s helped me find my confidence again that allows me to be ok with the shape and size of my body – a monumental task. Every time I feel like I’m going to lose my mind about getting dressed, she is able to calm me down and walk me through great ideas – from the clothes I own to websites where I can find success in hunting down a new wardrobe. The only regret I have is that I didn’t ‘meet’ her sooner.” – Stacey, North Dakota
Being a mom is so great, right? And terrifying and unknown and a little, well, chaotic? I remember crying to my mom when the big one was still tiny. We were getting ready to go out to eat and I cried because I was trying to wear some of my pre-baby, non-maternity clothes and I felt fat.
She reminded me that I had just had a baby. I think I found a cardigan to wear even though it wasn’t cold outside. But still, months later, I found myself in this weird place, when I was trying to dress my body. It just wasn’t the same as it used to be. People told me that would happen, but it didn’t sink in until it happened to me.
I just wanted someone to tell me what to do. Tell me what to wear. Tell me where to shop and what to buy. Shoot, just ship it to me, because I really couldn’t be bothered to go out and shop for it, especially with a baby. Do people take babies shopping? Should I take my baby shopping? What do I do? Just put him in the stroller? What if he has to eat? Do I bring my boppy? I’m not buying fat clothes. I’ll just stay inside or wear sweat pants until some of these things fit again. True story. I was a little crazy. Can you relate?
In the end, I didn’t find anyone that would do these things for me, so I simply decided that if I wanted to be happy and feel good in my own skin again, I would have to do some of the legwork and figure a few things out on my own. And that’s what I did and what I’m here to share with you.
I also have a degree in Textile Technology with a concentration in Design, which, may not be that impressive, but I can tell you that I know a thing or two about both fabric and design. So there’s that.
What Can You Expect from Working with Me?
You can expect to laugh a lot, maybe cry a little, and get some tools and tips on how to really love and dress the skin that you’re in. Whether you need 5 or 50 pieces, for every day or for a special occasion, I can help you navigate what will get you the most bang for your buck and make you feel amazing.
I would love to chat with you about your style/body/mom struggles and figure out how I can help!
Whether you are a Stay at Home Mom or a Working Mom or something in between, we all have our struggles and sometimes just talking through it is the perfect place to start. I want to get to know you and find out how I can help at least make one thing in your life a little bit easier!
What Are We Talking About?
It’s styling, just virtually! As part of your Virtual Styling, I offer 30 minute video calls to get started and offer some quick tips and guidelines to start adding style to your current chaos, right away.
Please don’t stress about this – I want to see you! We can compare the bags under our eyes and our day old mascara and I will be the last person to judge you if you haven’t showered!
What Else is Included?
In your Virtual Styling session, you will get the 30 minute video call with me so we can chat about lifestyle and personal style and the look you are trying to achieve. You can even show me some of the items you already have that you either love or hate. I’ll ask you to create a Pinterest board and share with me so I can get a better idea of your style and things that you love.
After that, you will get an inspiration booklet via email including links for pieces that will be custom tailored to you, based on our conversation. This will include 3 basic style pages, with links to purchase all items, as well as additional options as back up. For example, I’ll include my favorite striped shirt in the original style board but then will provide 1-3 alternatives on the following page for a range in style, price, etc.
We can work through these in all different ways – as you can see from these pages attached, here, we were working to stay within a certain budget.
Also included is one revision. So, if I send it over and you just hate it and it’s something you would never wear in a million years, I’ll send you one more to see if that one is a better fit. One thing to keep in mind though, is that the reason you’re here is likely because some of the things you’re currently doing just aren’t working. So I just ask you to have an open mind and when in doubt, just try and see!
What Makes Carli Different?
Now, I know there are clothing subscription services out there already. I know because I’ve done them. This is not that. One thing that makes me different is that my styling fee is completely separate from any clothing that you’d like to purchase. While I can see where this seems cost prohibitive, I’m also working with a solid set of retailers, as well as some online boutiques, to offer you lower prices and to be able to take advantage of sales, customer reward programs for you and things like that. So while my fee is separate, I think you’ll still find that it evens out in the end, or even ends up cheaper.
Additionally, I’m a single person who will cater things specifically to you. I’m not here to simply pick out trendy pieces that people like you “should” be wearing. I’m going to pick items specific to you that meet your needs. Example, if you are breastfeeding, I will take that into consideration for your styling and if you have young kids like me, unless you request it, I won’t link you to items that are Dry Clean Only. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
With me, it’s personal. It’s about connecting and about really creating something that you and I can both feel good about. If you’re not happy, I’m not happy!
