Swimsuit Guide 2019

April 6, 2019April 7, 2019 / carlibdesai/ 3 Comments

A Mom’s Guide to Swimsuits Here it is again – swimsuit season.  This year it’s a little different for me, as this summer season will relocate me and my family to sunny Florida.  Which, I suppose it is yet to be seen but I think it’s kind of always swimsuit season there?  I don’t really even know but that fact …

Meet Carli

Hello hello!  I’m Carli.  I’m a SAHM of 3 kids under the age of 6 and I’m just so excited that you’re here!  I write about being a mom, dressing our mom bods, decorating along with a little DIY and baking sweet treats in the kitchen – just adding a little touch of order and style to your normal every day chaos.

Rainbows are coming out next week!! If you want early access and an exclusive discount just for you, be sure you’re on my email list!
A truth that I believe is that you can almost never go wrong with a sequin accent. Because sparkle (but not super fine, ruin your life, stuck in very crack and crevice for a minimum of 3 years glitter). Did I need to explain that?? Raise your hand if you also love a good sequin 🙋🏼‍♀️
Rainbows. And people. Come in all different shapes and sizes. All are beautiful.
Favourite. Favorite. It feels funny to me how sometimes my creative brain tells me what to make. Right now, which makes it my current favorite, it’s rainbows. Painted, collaged, doodled, non Roy G Biv, put together curved color explosions. If it didn’t take so much longer to say, I may try to petition that all rainbows now be referred to as curved color explosions. May your day and your weekend be brilliantly colored and explosive. Only in the best and safest ways possible of course!
Starting point. This is the first piece of art that I posted. And the question that followed: is this for sale?
2 brand new inspirational prints hit the Etsy shop today!
Throwback to a fun birthday cake greeting card I did last year in honor of, did you guess it? It’s my birthday!
Silver lining. The silver lining to struggling with rainbows is that I now have bright, cheery rainbows all over my workspace. I dare you to not smile about that! Did you know that my spring birthday sale starts Monday?? 40% off most items as I inch towards the big 4-0 myself (not until 2022 but I can see it looking at me). There’s lots of goodness to be had!
Colour. Color. How about the color Pink? I think I started wanting pink hair when I was in my twenties, or at the very least when I was in college, but I was always scared. My life goal was to move to New York City and dye my hair pink, because that’s the kind of person I thought I had to be to have pink hair. Even if I was just there for a summer internship, that would have been enough. But that never happened and there was always a reason to not get the pink hair. Mostly that reason revolved around what other people would think about it and me as a result. It took me nearly 10 years after that to test out putting just a little pink in my hair (after dyeing the bulk of it a dark auburn so that it would blend in and be more subtle). If you know me now you may laugh at the word subtle as a descriptor for me. It took nearly another 10 years and a pandemic for me to jump with both feet and just do it already. That was one year ago when I ordered #wildorchid by @pravana off of @amazon. Yesterday, I went to my stylist and boldly requested not a hint, but a multi tone pink style. I now realize I don’t need to be a certain type of person to have pink hair, I just have to be myself and if pink is what I want to do with my hair then that is reason enough. And I L-O-V-E it. It doesn’t mean that I will have pink hair forever, but I have it now because I love it and it makes me happy. And can’t we agree that we could all use a little extra happy these days?
